There are lots of search engines all over the world, google is the largest one ever existed. And some marketers advise to submit your website to almost every search engine in the world. This is the wrong approach. And the truth is that there are only three search engines worth your attention – Google, Yahoo!, Bing. Of course, everything depends upon the region, because in some countries there are also other very important search engines. For example, Yandex is the biggest search engine in Russia with a market share of at least 65%, and Baidu has more than half of the market in China, and Seznam has considerable market share in Czech Republic. But these are very rare exceptions. For most other regions, Google, Yahoo! and Bing are the only search engines that matter.
Website's submission is a very simple, but important, step for your further website visibility and promotion. All search engine submissions are free, so if someone requests money for registering your website with search engines – this will be his/her fee, not a fee charged by search engines. You can use special website submission services (free or paid), but you can register your website with Google and Bing by yourself using the method below:
just go to google.com when it open,go to search box and type "submit website to..."
replace ... With name of search of search engine you want submit your site to.after that they will give you the link to follow that you will submit your site to
*. Submit your site to Google. Just enter the URL of your homepage into appropriate box, enter Captcha and click the Submit Request button. Your website will be added to the Googlebot crawl list and soon it will be indexed by Google. If you have several subdomains on your main domain - there will be enough to add just the homepage of your top-level domain. If your subdomains are internally linked with your top-level domain – crawlers will definitely find them all.
*.Submit website to Bing. The whole process looks very similar to the Google submission.
As for Yahoo! submission – there is no need to submit your site separately there because Yahoo! is powered by Bing at the moment. So, if Bing knows about your website, it will definitely spread this information to Yahoo!
But even if you do not register your website using the links above, there are other ways to get into search engines’ index. In practice, you can let Google know about your website via some other website by placing a backlink there. The only condition is that the website where you have placed a backlinkshould be already indexed by Google (Google should already know about that website). Google crawlers are regularly checking and updating websites from Google index. So when they crawl the website that has a backlink to your website, they will find that link and go on to your website.
Since Google crawls and indexes Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus – you can publish information about your website and a link to it in social networks. This may not only help get relevant visitors directly, but also may speed up indexation of your project by search engines.
There are some sites that do need your submission because they already powered by google through blogger(a wap builder written in python programming language).
